Kelvin Health Joins Forces with Two European Hospitals to Provide Tool for Efficient Breast Cancer Screening and Monitoring
August 10, 2021

University Medical Center Maribor, Slovenia and First Gynaecological Hospital St. Sofia, Bulgaria are the first two hospitals that will partner in the data collection process

We are happy to announce that Kelvin Health just signed an agreement with University Medical Center Maribor, one of the largest medical institutions in Slovenia, for a non-interventional trial of our thermal AI screening and monitoring technology. The study will enroll 50 patients that will use Kelvin Health’s technology for early screening and monitoring of breast carcinoma. Kelvin Health will be providing the technical equipment and software needed to conduct the trial.

This is our second contract with a major hospital, along with First Gynaecological Hospital St. Sofia in Bulgaria where the thermal data collection process already started two weeks ago.

These partnerships are an important milestone for Kelvin Health as they set the ground for a large-scale study for technology validation. The data collected via the two pilot locations will help us improve the process of taking thermal images to screen and monitor breast cancer conditions and give us valuable study data for further improvement of the AI algorithms in terms of sensitivity and specificity.

University Medical Centre Maribor, a public healthcare institution founded in 1799, provides secondary and tertiary healthcare services in North-eastern Slovenia. The founder of the University Medical Centre Maribor is the Republic of Slovenia. The hospital employs approximately 3414 staff members, 596 medical doctors, and 1836 associated healthcare professionals. Annually, about 60,000 patients are treated as inpatients and almost 400,000 as outpatients in different sub-specialty units.

We are excited to welcome these partners who are as passionate as we are to prevent breast cancer and its complications as early as possible!
